To Whom do we listen - Christ or the Pope?
The Catholic Church has asserted its primacy over the Protestant churches.
Dr. Ian R.K. Paisley
True to her motto 'Semper Eadem' (always the same), Rome has arrogantly revealed her bigotry and anti-Biblical nature.
The ecumenists have always told us 'Old Rome' is now 'New Rome', but the Vatican has put paid to that through the issue by the Pope of a document with instructions and definitions concerning Rome's status and that of other religious bodies which claim to be churches.
The document, issued at the same time as the Pope's beatification of two candidates for sainthood - Pope John XXIII the Second (the first Pope John XXIII had to be run off the church campus for his vile corruptions), and a Hitler anti-Jew Pope, Pius IX. The document was published at this time, before the Pope's forthcoming meeting with the Queen. It was a deliberate snub by the Vatican to put the Church of England in its place as far as Rome officially is concerned.
Why should the Queen be forced to wear black before the king of the tiny Vatican state will receive her? Roman Catholic women Sovereigns wear white when they visit the Pope.
Great efforts are being made by the apologists of Rome to blame the Cardinal for the document. While the Cardinal prepared the document the Pope stamped it with full papal authority, so it is now an infallible declaration of the self-professed infallible Pontiff and must be accepted by all the 'faithful'.
The following report from last week's Catholic Herald states plainly what the fallible Infallible really believes in these matters. There is no room for argument. The Pope says what he means and means what he says.
Rome Rejects Equal Status
by Simon Caldwell
'The Catholic Church has asserted its primacy over the Protestant churches.
Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, wrote to all bishops' conferences to address misuse of the phrase 'sister churches' in ecumenical dialogue - asserting the Catholic Church's unique identity as 'mother' of all Christian Churches. He said clarification was needed because the phrase, which put the Catholic Church on an equal footing with other churches, had become 'prevalent in contemporary writings on ecumenism'.
The term 'sister churches', he said, could only be used as to describe relationships between local Catholic churches, including the Orthodox, which had valid episcopates and Eucharist.
''The one, holy, catholic and apostolic universal church is not sister but 'mother' of all the churches,'' he said, adding: "There is but a single church, and therefore the plural term 'churches' can only refer to particular churches."
The Cardinal said the phrase 'our two churches', used in The Gift of Authority, last year's statement by the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission, should also be avoided because it might imply there was more than one Church of Christ.'
The arrogance of this Polish Pope is staggering, especially after all his play-acting on the international ecumenical stage. The deceits of popery are beyond the definition of the ordinary. The old Protestant exposure is correct, 'When does a lie become a truth? Answer: 'When it comes through the lips of a Pope of Rome'.
The message of this papal ultimatum can be summed up thus:
- All the Churches of the Reformation are unchurched
- 'Other Churches are no sisters of ours,' declares the Pope
- The Anglican Church must not be called a Church
The recent unity document proposing to make the Pope the Head of the Universal Church, issued under the title The Gift of Authority, by ARCIC (Anglican Roman Catholic International Commission) has been censured by the Pope. This document referred to both bodies as churches. Calling the Church of England a church must not be used again!
- The Roman Catholic Church is 'The Mother of All Churches' and the Sister of None
- The Church of Rome The Only Way of Salvation
The term 'church' may be applied to the Orthodox Churches which Rome claims broke from her one thousand years ago, but never to those which broke away at the Protestant Reformation, because 'they are not churches in the proper sense'.
The document states: 'It is evident that it would go against the faith to consider the (RC) church as 'one' way of salvation, alongside those represented by other religions.'
Rome's old bloodstained battle standard under which she slew millions of mankind, is raised again. 'No man can be saved except he is subject to the Pope of Rome'.
The Roman Antichrist has spoken. We reject him as a usurper .
The True Christ has spoken:
'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' John 14:6.
We believe the true Christ.
