Hitler's Pope: Vicar of Christ or Instrument of the Devil?
by Professor Arthur Noble
|
|
- Introduction
The revelations contained in John Cornwell's new book Hitler's Pope, The Secret History of Pope Pius XII, just published by Viking, are a total vindication of our claims that there was active Papal collusion with the Nazis in World War II.
- The Background
The book demonstrates through careful documentation that Pacelli was an anti-Semite who failed to speak out about Nazi and Fascist atrocities, and that he helped Hitler to power by fatally weakening the Roman Catholic Church in Germany.
- Absolutism - Intrigue
Cornwell has courageously attempted to write what he himself calls "the first scholarly and honest appraisal of Pius XII", only to find himself "embroiled in the fraught politics of a church in crisis".
- The Conspiracy against the Serbs
Having originally set out to defend Pacelli, Cornwell's discoveries soon force him to confess: "I found myself in a state I can only describe as moral shock."
- The Concordat with Hitler
In short: "He [Pope Pius XII] was the ideal Pope for Hitler’s unspeakable plan. He was Hitler’s pawn. He was Hitler’s Pope."
- Seeing the Unholiness behind the 'Holy' See
The broad fact is that neither the Vatican nor its German prelates ever condemned the foul principles and practices of the Nazi Government ... and that both Pius XI and Pius XII helped Hitler to attain power and made repeated and unceasing efforts to contract an alliance with him.
