The Muslim Parliament of Great Britain’s Manifesto provides justification for terrorism, says the Rev George Hargreaves who is leader of the Christian Party and also Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Service’s Stop and Search Independent Advisory Group.
Mr Hargreaves, speaking at the Metropolitan Police Association’s Together Against Terror conference on 12 December, publicly challenged the Leader of the Muslim Parliament, Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, to take the ‘Muslim Manifesto A strategy for survival’ off the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain’s web site. The manifesto, which can be found at www.muslimparliament states the following:
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE LIFE OF THE MUSLIM INDIVIDUAL IN BRITAIN
7. Jihad is a basic requirement of Islam and living in Britain or having British nationality by birth or naturalisation does not absolve the Mus¬lim from his or her duty to participate in jihad: this participation can be active service in armed struggle abroad and/or the provision of material and moral support to those engaged in such struggle anywhere in the world……
Mr Hargreaves later told BBC TV’s Home Affairs Correspondent; Guy Smith that the wording contained in the ‘Muslim Manifesto’ offers a proof text for hotheads and would be terrorists that believe that the concept of jihad means supporting ‘holy war’ in the form of armed struggle, even in Britain.
Dr Siddiqui argued that the 15 year old document was merely on the web site as a historical document, which reflected a view no longer held by the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain.
Mr Hargreaves responded by saying, “In the absence of any other updated manifesto on the web site, the ‘Muslim Manifesto A strategy for survival’ will be considered to be the current and active manifesto of the Muslim Parliament by those who wish to use it to promote terrorism”.
He added, “If the Muslim Parliament want to have this document historically archived they should do it offline, thus preventing it being accessed and used by murderous fanatics and criminals: Much has been done to disassociate the atrocities of 7/7 from the Islamic faith. The Muslim Parliament of Great Britain’s ‘Muslim Manifesto’ document undermines that work.”
