Introduction In all the history of our beloved land there is no event more important than the Great Reformation of the 16th century.
Wycliffe - The Morning Star
They declared that "the Pope and the Popish clergy should be exposed and done away"; while, in the third place "they strove to promote true love in all Christendom, and especially in England, and so to help men to reach securely the blessedness of heaven."
Tyndale - A Great Hero Tyndale cried out : "I defy the Pope and all his laws; and if God spares my life, ere many years I will cause a boy who drives the plough to know more of the Scriptures than thou dost."
Edward VI - The Young Josiah "O Lord God, bless Thy people, and save Thine inheritance. O Lord God, save Thy chosen people of England. O Lord God, defend this realm from Papistry; and maintain Thy true religion, that I and my people may praise Thy holy Name for Thy Son Jesus Christ's sake."
Queen Elizabeth - Good Queen Bess After five tragic years, Mary Tudor died, and under the influence of Elizabeth, who then came to the throne at the age of 25, the cause of Protestantism revived. Indeed, Protestantism was first thoroughly established in England in the reign of Elizabeth.

Safeguards - Watch and Remember We must seek opportunities to bring others under the sound of the Gospel. We must ever recall to mind our Protestant heritage, purchased for us at so great a price, and be determined that, come what may, God helping us, we shall never give it up.
